Beginner Class/Field Day

Saturday June 27th, 2026 at Hansen's Honey Farm 3279 Highway 8 East, Rhinelander, WI. 54501

Registration begins at 8:30am.

Beginner Class 9:00am-10:30am

You will learn about

• Equipment 
• Hive set-up and location
• testing for mites and treatment
• Feeding: bee nutrition and health
• Plants and landscaping to benefit bees
• When to "super up" and honey harvesting
• Panel discussion with members sharing their first time experience
• The cost of becoming a beekeeper
• Winterizing your bees
• and much more

Field Day 11am-1pm

Bring your bee suit or protective clothing as we will be opening active hives

We will be going into active hives to:

• Look for the queen
• Look at brood patterns
• Demonstrate how to split hives
• Test for mites

Cost is $20 single/family includes a 1 year membership to the Oneida County Beekeepers Association
